At least you are OK. Don't feel too bad, I did the same thing last fall. $11K in damage. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to total my car either.

Sorry about your loss if you want to get rid of your catback / or axle back i would be intrested if you want to recover some money.

insurance covered it. i should be getting it back tomorrow or monday. what surprised me was the total for the repair. i did not think it was 6k worth of damage. i'll have to look at the estimate. thanks for the kind words though

That suks!!!, hope your Insurance Company makes it right for you.
BTW, what tires where you running, and how much treadwear left?

yeah i took some pics but i still have to put them on my computer. the tires are stock size gs-a's and plenty of tread. i was switching lanes on the interstate and the next thing i knew i was going sideways into the tree line. it could have been much worse. im glad there were no dings or dents...just a lot of scratches. one thing im happy about is it ripped that damn front license plate frame off.

I know you probably weren't paying much attention, but I'm curious how the stabilitrack reacted to the skidding?

Non-worn tires should not have allowed this to happen, I am thinking you need to call Dewey, Screwem & Howe, and get a suit started.
Based on this happening on an interstate, I guess you were going 60+mph, damn glad you did have more damage and personal injuries. Well except for your neck movement thing, be sure the lawyer notes such in the suit.
