Default True dual 4" exhaust anyone?

Has anyone installed a true dual 4" exhaust with out clearance issues? Plan to put 4" oval pipes on and think it will clear ok. Just wondering if anyone has done it and if so have any pics?

I have 3.5" oval. Good luck with the 4" system. The transition from oval to round into the mufflers is the biggest clearance issue that I found.

We can get a 3" case with oval on both ends. What mufflers are you using on your 3.5"?

I admit I havent seen alot of oval exhausts but dual 4" is just nuts. I had enough clearence issues with my single 4" I couldnt imagine having two pipes running back. I hope for your sake your car isnt and will never be lowered.

I have a dual 3.5 inch system on my car. It fit without any problems. Motor and exhaust are solid mounted though, so there's no movement to rattle.

We have a motor & mid plate so no movement here either. Have any pics of your system you would like to share?

I don't have any that are really going to help unfortunately no. We ran 3.5 inch pipe off the collectors to a super 44 muffler that's mounted under the front seat on both sides, then enough pipe to go back to the rear tires and turn out the sides. There's a solid strap welded to the muffler casing that holds the exhaust on each side to where the factory g-load brace is (where the bmr driveshaft loop attaches). Used a couple small tabs, one on the collector and oen on the exhaust to hold it on in the front, no clamps. Just slid the pipe over the collector about 5 inches.

No x or H, I don't really feel they are worth it on a drag car, never seen anyone really pick enough up when there's a big enough exhaust on the car to be worth the weight and the added work to remove the exhuast. I can drop mine off the car in about 15 min if I want to, no lift no jack if need be, so it's convenient to say the least.

How much power would dual 4" support? I'm planning on doing 1K through a single 4". I think dual 4's is doable if they're dumped fairly short.

Not sure what dual 4 inch can support, but I talked to a few guys with various different n/a, supercharged and nitrous setups, and they all told me that with dual 3.5 like I did I probably can get into the 7 second zone before it will be enough of a restriction to hamper performance.

Whose mufflers would you use? Spintech, Borla, Flowmaster? I know they all offer an oval in & out muffler.

Te super 44's I used we just cut the ends where the bevel up at the case where they were 3.5 inch in diameter. The case on them is only 4 inches thick.

Talking with DR.GAS & Spintech the 3.5" is good to 800ish hp n/a. That is right on the edge of what I need and looking for growth in the future so hence the interest in the 4" stuff.

I see that many members don't care for the Spintech mufflers here but I have ran Flowmasters and Spintechs and have gone faster (and quieter) with the Spintechs at the track. This was done on two different cars, one 3" and one 3.5" system but they do cost more.
