I'm starting to consider it.... Know of anyone needing an electrician (20 years Navy experience operations/maintenance/QA/Work Package Writing)?

Don't work in any plant, however do any and all electric metering at power plants and customer owned substations in the Center Point area. Visited the Tenaska plant mentioned and have been to STP many times.

Honestly, I don't have a problem with the Tenaska tech staff......it's their flippin brokers calling all the time.

My typical phone conversation at 2-3AM-

Call A
Broker: "Daniel, we're showing you aren't pulling enough megawatts to fulfill your contract obligation."

Me: "No problem, I've got an extra 1500 horse motor sitting in the shop. You need me to wire it up?"

Broker: "I'm sorry? I don't understand."

Me: "Don't worry about it. Tell ya what, call back about 9AM and ask to speak to so and so."

Call B
Broker: "Daniel, we're showing you are only pulling 12MW, we would like to sell the extra block."

Me: "I'm just the technician, you'll have to call back in the morning when someone is here that can make that decision."

Broker: "I'm going to need to talk to someone immediately."

Me: "Try this number: XXX-xxx-XxXx" (number to extension with no phone or voicemail....rings off the hook)

Call C
Broker: "Daniel, were not showing any telemetry from your recloser."

Me: "I'm showing good TX and RX on my end, you need to check your equipment on your end."

So is my life.....

Brokers...it's an ERCOT thing

Yeah, I typically get a call from them about twice a shift. We have a 10MW contract with them on our smaller machine and a 15MW on our larger machine. Since we went live with our co-gen on the larger machine, we've only averaged about 12.7MW. I get calls usually about twice a shift (every 6 hours) asking if they can sell a block. My answer? Nope.

.........(unless they want to make the check out to me and send it to my house).......
