Talking LSX Cog Kits Fit Tri-Fives...

Well it's official...a F1R Cog kit will fit in a 57 engine bay. The lower pulley is close to the radiator, but moving it to the 6 cyl postion should give me enough space for a fan.

The only real problems that I've ran across so far, was getting the hub installed on the front of the blower and the power steering delete kit not working well with a 6.0 iron block.

As far as the set up goes;
408 using a 6.0 block
Callies Crank and rods
-20 Wiseco pistons
Comps LSR Centrifugal blower cam
Livernois Stg 3 L-92 heads
CSU blow through carb
Turbo 400 w brake
PTC 4500 stall converter
and Strange S-60 rear with 3.73 gears

It's hard to see, but there's a spacer that goes between the head and blower bracket that has seven sets of mounting holes that gives you some options on mounting the brackets. I would say this probably gives you about 2" of wiggle room...

What problems were you having with the power steering bracket to the 6.0 iron block?

It's nothing major. The PS bracket with the kit is set up for an aluminium block with three mounting holes, the iron block only has only one of those holes So you have to drill and tap one, and I'm either going to make a support coming off of the water pump or use a standoff to keep it from flexing. As far as the balancer goes, I was told to get a specific balancer made for a cog blower pulley. I'll post up the part number later.

Thank you im get this kit tomorrow. What did they ding you for the main bracket, alt and power steering bracket? Were there blanks where you had to drill for the PS bracket?
