It might be worth running the spacers just for the extra clearance and peace of mind. They're not all that expensive, I know I'm going to need them when my YT's go in.

Every set of YT's that I have installed have required some shimming to get the wipe correct. The shims are to correct wipe, not for lifter preload. You will need to adjust the wipe first then measure for the required pushrods. Having said all that, if you shim the rockers they will hit the valve covers so you either need to grind the valve covers and remove the baffles or go with spacers.

I would say get valve covers, not valve cover spacers. I know there is a huge price difference, but from what I am told there is alarge tendency for oil leaks with spacers.

Having said that, why not stay with stock rockers? I run stock rockets with a bigger cam at 7000+ rpm and never had an issue...

Never understood why people use aftermarket rockers that are heavier than stock with a Hyd roller cam...

If anything, just do the Harlan Sharp upgrade on the stockers...

Just my $.02

Mine didn't hit and they are shimmed with the supplied YT shim .048.
I don't know how close they are to hitting tho
I was told I had to run aftermarket rockers because of the bronze valve giudes, and that is the only reason I have the YT's.
