Default Cheap Scavenge Pump~!

Hey guys.
Doin work on my LS1 swap in my 2000 s10.
I've done many turbo projects before, and figured i'd share a secret with you all if it hasn't been discussed earlier.

I know lots of u spend tons of money on Oil scavenge pumps... But you don't have to!

Wouldn't it be great to have a pump that can run DRY?!?!?! without damage?!?!?!
How about a pump that is Whisper Quiet!?
How about a pump that is self priming from up to 6 feet vertically up in the air?

Anyway, i've used this kind of pump on a few applications:
Remote mount turbo's on Hondas/nissans...
Oil scavenge pump for low mounted turbo's on Motorcycles

It sells for about $85, has a 5 year warrenty, and is perfect for your remote mounted turbos!

It has a check valve built in so you won't have back pressure, and oil will not flow from your valve cover all the way back to fill your turbo up again...
And they are thermal protected, meaning if they overheat, they'll shut off before burning up~~~ Not really a bonus, but figured i'd share.

Guess what it's called?!
SHURflo Whisper King !!!

It's meant to be a waste water pump for RV's and motorhomes. It will run up to 60psi if you need it, or free flowing.

It pumps 2 gallons per minute, or 7.5L.
To put that in perspective... at Idle, your turbo uses about a half quart of oil per minute. at 7,000 RPM and 60psi, you will never run over 4.5 to 5 quarts of oil per minute through the turbo... And at 7.5LPM with this pump, it's matched up perfectly.

I've always run the drain from my turbo's to a low profile catch tank, with a barb fitting at the back that goes to my pump. Never had a problem with these, so i hope you all can try it out as well!

Link for more details.

Note, it's not recomended for liquids over 130* Farenheit... however i've used them without any oil coolers, and ussually a remote mounted turbo runs cooler oil temps anyway.

The 8000-643-210 pump is a better choice and rated for oil.

Been running one of these for almost a year now, best pump i've run yet. $110

So you can't run this for a front mount due to the 200*+ oil temps?

here is another alternative. There is some interesting information on the different pumps that are available
I just ordered the smallest pump to circulate my transmission fluid through the cooler.
