Exclamation Cam and Trq converter question

ok i want to get a cam for my 2002 camaro ss. and a lot of people say i should get a better torque converter. but lets say i do get a cam. do i really need a upgraded tourqe converter even is its not that big or powerful cam. like my stock tourqe converter wouldnt be good enough?
i was looking at these type of cams

http://www.texas-speed.com/shop/item...d=164&catid=44
220/220 .581/.581 Camshaft

http://www.texas-speed.com/shop/item...d=166&catid=44
224/224 .581/.581 Camshaft

I have a Yank 3200 and I will most likely go with a 224/224 cam. Or at least that's what i'm about to do. I was told by other members of LS1tech that the 224 is reccomended.

you'll gain more performance from a stock motor with stall than a cam and no stall.

To achieve maximum potential for your application, you should always match your components properly. If you do not get the proper converter, your cam's powerband will be limited and will not be fully utilized. When I had a 224 cam I used a 3600 stall and it got me low 7's in the 1/8 with AFR heads.
