Default alpine speaker and amp question

I have a alpine type R 10" sub in a stealth box and would like to know if this is a decent speaker? I am also in need of an amp to push it and would like some recommendations. I still have all original factory stereo equipment but plan on upgrading it eventually.

ALPINE,
what size is your amp and how do you like it? I have
heard good things about Phoenix Gold.

It's a 500.2, and it hammers those 12's with a cap. I love alpine, but phoenix gold makes a better sub amp I think.
