Question ls1 w/turbo?

i am fairly new to the game of ls motors, i like old school carbs blah blah blah. i was chating with some dude and he mentioned something that ls motors aren't turbo friendly, something to do with the valves and that they have a tendancy to blow head gaskets. i have been trying to find out if this is true or not. does anyone know what i am talk about or am i really thestupidone? i dont' really belive what he said so i am asking the sight. any words?

check out the forced induction section, plenty of guys there are running monster turbo setups making 1000+ hp to the wheels. I've heard that mod motors are very turbo friendly (but that could be because they dont make power N/A), but it seems like LS1's work pretty good with turbos.

It all depends on how much boost you are throwing at it. In stock form, the LS1 can handle a maximum of 10 psi with meth if tuned correctly. For longer life 7 psi is a good medium.
Now go forged and you'll be ammazed how much they can take. There is a GM block that accepts 6 bolt head now and it can be O-ringed as well so the sky is the limit if done right.
