Question What is the purpose of regapping spark plugs when on the bottle?

I was just currious of what the purpose is and is it that important to re gap the spark plugs to 35thousandths rather than the norm. Will anything happen to my car if I don't regap them. Thanks Jessie

The main purpose that I was told was that is keeps you from blowing out the spark with such a large gap. The more Horsepower you make the smaller the gap. I am sure someone else will jump in and tell me all that I have been hearing is wrong...
