Default V band clamp nuts backing off...

How tight can I tighten the 1/2" nuts on my Dynatech V band clamps? I have them right behind my collectors, connecting my headers to my y pipe.

I can tighten them down with my 1/2" ratchet, but after about a week they loosen up enough to leak and drive me crazy. Could I use some locktite? Or how about a big pull-bar. I don't want to break them, but I'm tired of re-tightening every week.

Ditto - double nut them. When double-nutting re-tighten the exhaust when it is cold, not when the exhaust is warm or hot.

Now why the hell didn't I think of that? I was beginning to think that V bands were a mistake, but dammit, they're the ultimate in high speed Y pipe removal!
