Default I want to CNC my heads at work, where do I find a program?

I have a used set of 241 heads I was thinking about CNC milling. We have 6 HAAS 5 axis milling machines at work. I asked the chief operator if he would mill a set of heads for me. He says that he would need a program to look at to check to see if we had all the tools in stock and also to see if we needed a jig to clamp the head to. Im sure many of the machine shops have written their own programs and that is propriatery information. Would there be any where that I could find programs online to look at? We use Mastercam X3 at my shop.

I wuold imagine that a CNC design file would be propriatary information and would not be redily available for people to use.

Agreed... but few would want to share that kind of information. A lot of shops will not even tell the specs on some of the new cams out there, and that is only a combination of lobes already on offer in a publicaly available printed cataloge, this would be a completly, from the ground up, 3d model of a cylinder head/cylinder head runner that they created. That info would be hard to come by.

Our engine builder subs some work to a machine shop that deals with LSX parts and he got a program that works with master cam, I dont know how and how well it will work. I have a set of 241 casting heads that I would love to learn on. Our machinest says that the program is huge but looks legit, we lack some of the tools for the turret. The tools alone would be some $$, the other problem is getting the heads to sit in the mill, we may have to make a jig. I dont think they will turn out very well, its more of a learning experiance for me on a pair of heads I got as part of a deal. I will post up if we ever mill one.
