Default Midwest housing leak

Seems my vent on the left axle tube is leaking. What are you guys doing to remedy this? I am wondering what size threads that is maybe running some sort of extended line off the tube. Thanks for the help.

Had that problem with mine as well, I put a tube from the top and ran a hose but since my car is lowered on a large bump it broke the fitting.

I ended up going to Home Depot and getting a 90* elbow(male/female) and a straight barb, ran that to about a 6" length of fuel line and put a small k&n style filter on top and ziptied it up near the fuel tank. Fittings cost me under $5 and I had the filter laying around the garage.

IIRC it was 1/8th in thread.

Did something similar to the above... Didn't use/have his vent so I used a hose barb fitting and a piece of rubber hose, quite long, and then got a filter from napa that was an air oil separator or something like that name.. zip tied it all straight up to around the fuel tank/wiring/whatever..

Yup. screwed a brass nipple in the hole and added some rubber hose.

i'm not sure where to point the problem on the issue, but the vent we use is the same thing most of the rearend manufacturers use. it seems as if the fluid residue issue is hit and miss... not everyone has this problem... most do not. if it were an issue for everyone i would sure not mind using a brass barb and some hose that is half the cost of the one we currently use.

No signs of fluid seeping from my vent. Found myself on a road course but only had street tires with me. Slinging the oil around as much as I can my rear end was still bone dry. I kinda figured I would see some oil on the housing.

I actually thought it was only me that had this problem until I saw the thread, I still have zero regrets, hands down the best rear end on the market.

I found a PVC valve that screwed into the vent hole, and tied ~1' of hose up. No problems since.

I'm having the same issue as well....I have no regrets and this small issue wouldn't make me rethink a purchase of this kick *** rearend. It is easily fixed.

I didnt even look at mine, but im asusming it has what you guys are talking about.. No issues of leaking there.

But, I did however see that the passenger side seal where the axle comes out is leaking.. at 1st I thought it was my caliper/brake fluid. After taking that off I found it was diff fluid, im sure that going to be fun to change.
