Exclamation Optima Batter Faux pas

Ok, So I need a new battery. WEnt today to get an optima red top, Told the guy I needed a 75/25 for 02 camaro z, he said that the yellow top would be fine. got home and the fker is too big, its a 34/78, What do I need to do to get this to fit?!??!?! I need this done today, and hope i'm not stuck buying another fkin optima..Does napa have a tray for this that works with 02 camaro??

or do I have to go buy a smaller optima?

please chime in guys!

Exactly. Even if you tried to install it is the sales persons fault for selling you one that doesn't fit.

I managed to squeeze a 34/78 in my stock battery tray...I think all I had to do was grind off a couple of the locating tabs, but it has been a couple years since I installed it.

I would take it back, and get the right one.

Then find the guy that said it would fit and tell him the Bangkok joke...

"Hey man, do you know the capitol of Japan?"
"No, why?"
"Its Bangkok"...right after saying the word bangkok, you punch him in the *****.

Take the battery back. There's no reason you should have to modify your car to install the wrong battery. Or any part for that matter. I spent $160 on my Optima. You had to spend somewhere close to that and for that kinda cash you should have the right part. Seriously, take it back.

If you dont have a sound system the yellow top is not needed. The red top fits and works fine.

34/78 is the group size used on chevy/gmc trucks and suvs. get the 75

Yeah man why put a square peg in a round hole. Get the one that fits right, especially if you're gonna drop that kind of cash for a battery.
