LTx or LSx
I've been doing some research about LSx'ing my car but a friend of mine suggested an LT1. I've kinda looked for a thread that listed pro's and con's against each other but i either find one or the other.
I guess list what you got and explain why not the other?

I own a LT1 camaro and want a ls motor we dont have as much after market support as a LS motor. The LS motor is all Aluminum. Can be bored to over crazy numbers, It cools better than a LT motor. The lit goes on and on.

LS motors are a complete redesign. They make much better power while still maintainig good street manners.
The LT motors are good motors, but where only made a few years. There is not as much aftermarket support and probably never will be. LT motors also have that crappy optispark. The LS coil near plug is vastly superior and absolutely reliable. the LT motors came with a T56, but it is not compatible with the LS T56's. Thus your trans availability options are more limited too.
An LT motor may be a better choice for your specific swap depending upon which is easier to install and whether you plan to meet your local smog laws. The 1995 motors are pre-OBDII when it comes to smog laws, but have the OBDII ECU that can be programmed.

a 6.0 will displace much more than a typical 350 lt1 when overbored.
a .030 over bore will equal 370ci, where a 350 will equal 355ci
cranks,rods, are stronger, superior cylinder head and intake manifold design.
even the ole stock ls1 egr fbody intake is way better than a lt1

LS period!!!
NemeSS has said best, although i dont know him personally but i have read alot of things he has said and i think he "KNOWS"
you can take a junk 350 and make it work and run quite well, correct?
you can take a fairly used LS motor rebuild it and run all over that junk rebuilt 350 ALL DAY!
dont get me wrong i love my 350s. parts are sooooo readily AVAILABLE, so are the LS's

It's just newer technology..
I have a friend with a '89 2-door Caprice powered by a 360(.060 over 350) that he built. He wants to build that up to take down my car. I told him that if he wanted to run close to get a 6.0l and build that up.
He doesn't want to switch over cause of all the wiring. I told him I'd help with that. He still wonders how I got so much out of what I had..lol
