Default 4l65????

well i was about to put a th350 in my 96z to get rid of the 4l60e and i have come across a deal on a 4l65??? would that be a good tranny for the car or not have not herd alot about them??

^^^^ i just had 65e with transgo kit, installed in my 01ss, went 10. 7 so in my iop there better stronger than a 60e..bigger shaft etc...i'm no expert..

The primary difference is the addition of five pinion planets and the 65e is slightly strong but not my much than the 60e biut neither the stock 60e or the 65e stock is anywhere close to the built 60e not even in the ball park.

welli been looking i was told it might be a 4l65 but its a vacum and 3 speed its long tail and it was out of a 454 dump truck any ideas wat it might be??

Is that the only thing you did to it? I want to beef up mine alittle because I dont have the funds for a complete build right now.

Having an overdrive vs not having one is a big consideration. I have a buddy who racking his brain over it.

ya its not a daily driver nor would it be dependable or affordable to do so haha it is street legal for like a town cruise on the weekends bout it and with the motor and stall i had the 4l60 would never stay in overdrive so i wont miss it i just want something that will hold together and dont take a lot of mods to put in
