Default High idle problem

My dads car has a high idle(2000 WS6 6 spd). After cleaning the MAF and TB he started it and it went to 2k rpm, kicked it down and it was fine and now he said the idle keeps going up when he comes to a stop. Any clue? Is the MAF junk? He threw a few codes thats why he cleaned the MAF off and the TB. along with the IAC.

was it idling high before you cleaned the maf/tb? if so you could have a vacuum leak

The MAF isn't even a needed part after the engine is warmed up (above 122*F) in normal driving. So its not the MAF.

High idles almost always points to a vacuum leak. Or a sticking throttle cable.

What were the codes?
