I know this isnt the right place, but my post in the parts wanted section isnt getting many views and I really need this.

It's for a 2001 Trans Am ws6 6-speed with abs and traction control and 3.42 gears.

So it need to be a series 3 differential, obviously in good condition.

Just some fyi info in case you have one and don't know what series you have:
"A 2 series carrier is a car that came with 3.08s or lower from the factory (i.e. all of your 2.73 cars). A 3 series carrier is a car that came with 3.23s or higher."


Also I have a question. If I were to buy a series 2 diff, is there a way to convert it to a 3 series, possibly with parts of my 3 series?

If you want to move up to a ($$$) T-2R chunk you can check
with Strano --> and see if he's still diistributing them. I did that
and the 3.42 swap all at once.

O sorry I didn't update this. I found a 3 series Zexel on eBay like 10 minutes after I posted this. They spelled Zexel wrong so it didn't get too many hits and I got it for $5 !!!! (+shipping). That or nobody wants them lol.

If this one turns out to be a POS I'll give you guys some business.

I think it may mine cost me 150 for the unit, not including any ring gear.
