12s Woohoo
I finally got into the 12s this past Saturday. And I’m happy about it! Just wanted to share my joy here. I ran a string of 12.9s@106-107mph, w/1.9x 60 ft., 8.3@84-85mph 1/8mi.
I got a 2002 Z28 A4 with a lid, cutout, HPP3 tuning & shift point adjustment, 3.42 gears, Nitto DRs, SFC, LCA & relocation brackets. I have been fighting traction problems which have kept me out of the 12s. Now with the relocation brackets, I hook pretty good & consistent.

Thanks for the kind words. Now I have to set a new goal to shoot for.
Wow, both of your excellent ET/mphs are inspiring. Maybe one day I can get close to doing as well as you guys. 12.1s is an admirable goal, but gonna be a challenge for me to do, especially on my budget.
Thanks again for the replies!

damnit ive been trying for 12's all year but being in this texas heat doesnt help. This past january my first run ever in my car at HRP in baytown i ran a 13.1 @ 107 with a 8.5 @ 85 and a 2.0 60'. I had a lid, and slp loudmouth then with 2.73's. I now have slp cold air, Mac headers and still only ran a 13.3 @ 108. I'm having horrible traction problems even with the 2.73's. i ran a 2.4 short time and a 8.7 @ 86 1/8th. any suggestions on traction???

Thanks for the replies gentlemen!
MrHughesZ28,
In hindsight, instead of getting Nitto DRs, I should have bought ET streets/drags for traction. Then I probably wouldn't need the relocation brackets. Hope this helps.

I remember back in the day when I was bearly trying to break 12's J/K
It took me Slicks, 3200 Stall, Mac Headers w ORP, Cutouts, Flowmaster Exhuast, SLP Lid/Filter, Free Mods, 3:73 Gears, and tranny before I hit a 12.90! My car ran a 14.2 out of the factory, theres those factory freaks and weanies. Hhehe. Anyways Good luck on getting those times down.
