Default Bad noise when in neutral, clutch out.

Last night my car developed a bad rotational clacking/tapping sound when in neutral with the clutch engaged (out). When I push the clutch pedal down, it goes away. Car drives fine and the clutch does not slip. Please tell me this is a TO bearing or something expendable and not my tranny.

You're way more likely to kill the TO brg than an internal T56 bearing.

could be the throwout bearing or the clutch... How many miles do you have on it?

Sorry I should have included that the car is basically stock (intake/catback) with 37k on the original clutch. I am the 3rd owner of the car.
