Bad noise when in neutral, clutch out.

Bad noise when in neutral, clutch out. Last night my car developed a bad rotational clacking/tapping sound when in neutral with the clutch engaged (out). When I push the clutch pedal down, it goes away. Car drives fine and the clutch does not slip. Please tell me this is a TO bearing or something expendable and not my tranny.
