Special Edition Vehicles - New Firehawk???

Does anyone else think SLP should have used a different name besides the Firehawk for the G8??? :confused: Maybe I'm biased because I'm a purist & own a 99 Firebird Firehawk (actually for sale). Don't get me wrong, the G8 FH is a sweet car. You can't go wrong with 500 hp! I just think it should have it's own badge. There's probably been posts on this before, but I just saw the G8 FH on the SLP website today & had to vent.

traitor......lol. I will still be true to GM...regardless of a bad decision, but with SLP getting their hands on the new SS Camaro, they probably wanted to remake the Firehawk as well but guess what...no more Trans Am's or Firebird's and Pontiac going out of business.......they needed something, and the G8 was probably the best choice they could find...I'm just happy the SLP SS Camaro is back! lol

lol, deal...I agree it will NEVER be a true "Firehawk" simply because I am loyal to the Firebird being a Firehawk....but they had to do something you know? G8 was the best choice...I mean what else would they have used??? The Solstice??? HA!

Well with Pontiac killed off by the end of 2010 at least there won't be too many floating around.

I remember when SLP announced this car and that it would be called a Firehawk. The negative response was incredible. SLP's response to the criticism was "It's our name and we'll put it on anything we want".
The silence in the offices of SLP must have been deafening when word of Pontiac's demise came out.
Well SLP, hope the R&D expense, marketing, certifications. negative PR and pissing off a lot of the "real" Firehawk nation was worth it for a run of 250 cars.
