Default oil pressure issue/ hoping its the sender

ok just got my new 402 in the car and got it fired up and at a cold idle is is at 40 psi which is a little low and then when it warms up at idle is is at 20psi and while driving it goes up to 30/40 depending on RPM. i grabbed the oil sending unit and i can move the plastic part, it will turn back and forth a little..you guys think the sendning unit is the problem..i sure in the hell hope so..im going to buy one tomorrow and swop them out..let me know what you think

A good place to start, but a pressure leak would result normally in a fluid leak as well.

It could possibly be the o-ring on the pickup tube is pinched. A buddy of mine did that on his vette and it did the same thing.
