Default 408ci 9.2:1+Z06+magnacharger= will it work?

i have a 408 that was going to go in my z28 for an 88mm turbo setup. but i have a chance to buy a 02 Z06, and would love to have a magnacharger on it. is the motor to big and the supercharger would not feed it?

just needing a little help.....

Save your money bro and keep the 88. Maggies sound great I'll give'em that.

Yes too much engine for a standard 112 or 122 maggie. Kenne Bell would have something if looking at a positive displacement type blower. The procharger setups on Vettes can make some huge power too.

It will work. Choosing the right maggie depends on your HP goals. The 112 with a small cam and bolt ons would make an excellent tow vehicle. Not too many vettes with trailer hitches though!. TVS 2300 on the 408 would be pretty stout. Traction and drivetrain upgrades would be necessary. Your pocket book is the limit on that one. How much do you want to spend.....how fast do you want to go?

i am just looking to have 550 or so rwhp. i am looking a good street car that is fun to drive, my making big power day are almost gone..i have took the 408 out of the denali and took the turbo off, if the car runs in the low 11s that would be great. i think i could sell the new 408 for around 3gs just to get it gone and put a set of long T,112hh or 122, and a cam in that stock ls6 with a good set of heads and make that.? what do you think

the stock engine with a 122 would get you to 500whp. A 2.6l Kenne Bell will get you there with lower IAT's, have the potential for 600+. A TVS2300 would also do that, although there is not a kit that I know of for a C5.

thanks for all the replys TJ and others....will a KB feed that 408 tho? we put a 122 on a 427 with trickflow heads and it would not make but 5psi because the damn thing was flowing so good and the motor was so big, hell it took a lot just to get 12psi on my 370 with that 112hh i had on my truck.

i know that turbo is the way to go but i just dont have the time or do i want to cut up this Z06. i just want 550 or so rwhp to and talk a little **** here and there....

thanks for all the info.....

Yes a 2.8l would make a nice and easy 700+whp on a 408. It would make for an awesome driver for sure!!!

If you can drop the compression a bit more you could run a self-contained ATI / Vortech (easy to install) at a decent boost level. Should be good for 700+ rwhp

Should work just fine, just have to drill and tap on location in the block for the ALT/PS bracket for the vette acc. to work.

Sell the maggie and put a novi on it or a d1sc. You will make 500 hp on a nicecold cold pull but the avarage will be mid 400 the same you can get out of a head cam car. Novi + 408= rocket with supporting mods i.e fuel.
