Default Brand Best For Daily Driving?

Hello, everyone.

Can someone tell me if there's a particular brand of 275/40ZR17 tires that are better suited for casual daily driving than others, or do they all perform and wear the same?

Someone once told me that the Falken brand are "good," but that they "go pretty quickly." Do Falken tires wear faster than Goodyear Eagles?

Any information is greatly appreciated.

Sumitomos are cheap and last a long time.

Mine came new on the car when I bought it 2 years ago and they just passed inspection last week.

They have over 20k miles on them.

I've unfortunately driven in light snow when it had just started once and I only slipped while accelerating once and not at all when stopping slowly. Rain was never an issue either as long as you are careful with your right foot.

Yes, but the Winters here are snow-free... Is temperature a factor?

Yeah, I just came across them on eBay. lol I didn't think that they would last long judging from their low price--I was equating cost to quality. But it's great to hear they do last.

How much tread would you say is left now that they have 20k miles? Just wanna get an idea of their total potential mileage.

I have four TA wheels and tires for sale
from a 2002 WS6 TA.

Tires are Goodyear Eagle F1's 275/40ZR17

All four tires have good tread left, one is actually brand new and just put on.

I was going to sell them as a set for $850.

Let me know if you interested and I can send you some pictures.

For a good street tire, I think the BFG KDW is one of the best on the market. Great compromise between wear, traction, and handling.

I second that. I've used the KD, KDW, Pilotsports, and now have stuck with the Goodyear GSD3's but the KDW for the price and wear is a good tire. I've heard the wide oval is a good tire but never used it.

You do get what you pay for though. A good summer performance tire like the KD or D3 will outperform the KDW in every way. Wear sucks on them though.
