Default What cause high Oil pressure

The other day I noticed my cluster was showing at idle just pass the 40 mark. Upon accleration the gauge would move over the to next dash mark 60 psi. If i stay in the thorttle it would fall over to 80psi on the gauge- cluster.

I thought it was the oil pressure switch, I had to get one from auto zone, only place that was open. It is still doing the same problem as described above. Can anyone help me out on this. 2000 SS with 38k

Thanks
-Sean-
