Default bought an 05 5.3 L33 today....

Just curious what year wiring harness is compatible with this engine. Its the aluminum 5.3 with zo6 style head. I want to use an f-car harness, Any preferential years? I want to go cable throttle body by the way. Im hoping a 99 or newer f-car harness will work. I found a 98, but saorry im a half breed ford guy, but i thought there were some disadvantages to the 98 pcm. Anybody want to feel me in. Ive done my reserach & can make any harness stand alone, just want to know whats compatible with what i have.
thanks in advance, the info on this board is proceless!

All Gen III harness (truck,vette,F-body) should work depending on what intake you use. THe truck injectors use a different plug.

holy crap that link! drool..... I was gonna fab a single master power t-70, but those na numbers look nice. not to get off topiv but the l33 already has flat top pistons right? and 9.9 compression, so with 4.8 pistons what would it be? reason i ask is i have acces to a complete 2001 4.8 & I could take all the wiring i want. If i could use this harness & possibly the pistons later it would be cool. I can get the 4.8 with harness & pcm for 400, would this comp work or is LS1 comp better?

Awesome, welcome to the club. I picked up my L33 last month for $699 shipped. Has 55k on it, although it didn't come with any accessories or Harness. I'm using a 2004 Silverado Harness and PCM for my swap.

4.8 flat top pistons are the samr p/n as the L33 5.3 pistons.

a friend of mine offered to give me a complete 2001 5.3 harness & computer. Would there be a problem with using this? Is the truck PCM just as easy to tune with, I will be going turbo, and want to have a pcm that is easy to tune.

The harness and PCm should work fine. I'm currently setting up my L33 with a 2004 Silverado PCM and Harness.

You will have to decided if you are going DBW or Cable. The L33 is set up for DBW, the 2001 truck harness and PCM is Cable.

I plan on going cable for simplicity & i know i can make the mustang cable work. So is the consensus that there is no advantage of say an 02 ls1 harness/comp from a tunability standpoint?
