Default TSP 231/237 on 112 or 114 for NITROUS??

I was wondering what you guys thaugt about this cam with a 112 or 114 with nitrous. I know that the 114 is better for nitrous but I was also thinking that with the larger exhaust duration it might not make that much of a difference if it was on a 112.

This is going to be in a full bolt on car, cam only tuned for a 150 or 175 shot of juice.

It's not going to make a difference. The big split will take care of the nitrous plenty fine. I would do the 112.

Althought the 112 would handle it just fine, I would still go with the wider LSA for that large of a shot.

Interesting, I plan on ordering this cam within the next day or two and want it in a 112*Lsa. Should make a little rumble with my A4! And nitrous, uhmm yeah, 180NXL shot worth, soon to be bumped by the 220jets. Lets here some more!

I want to here more input myself. I want it on the 112 but I know that the 114 might be better for nitrous but like I said I would think the big exhaust duration should make up for it.

Guys, ask yourself. Are you going to be spraying this motor 75% of the time it runs? Or 25%? Do not worry about building a motor for nitrous unless that's it's primary function. You are not going to notice any difference between the 112 and the 114 except a smoother idle with the 114.

If you're building a motor strickly for nitrous use, and plan on spraying a constant 200+ shot, a 114 might be the better idea. For every other street car, build it for N/A power and nitrous is just icing on the cake.

Can the stock bottom end handle 175-200 hp shot?

It will all depend on tuning a fuel delivery how much the motor will take. However, even with a perfect tune and plenty of fuel pressure, stock pistons won't take a 200 shot for very long. I'd imagine you'll get between 10-20 sprays MAX out of a stock piston before something lets go with a 200 shot. Stock pistons aren't bad N/A, but aren't strong enough for large shots of nitrous.

z98, I have hellalot of 175 shot from my old wet kit. Now I have logged 8x 180NXL DP shots. Cant say its doing the bottom end any favors, but really even a forged bottom doesnt scream "hey hit me with a big shot will ya!" So, he right, tuning and delivery are a key component. Sooner or later age/fatigue will take over.

ohh im not exactly meaning im gunna be flogging my motor with a 200. Usually the 150 shot and every once in a while I'll slap the 175's in and when I get ready to build my big stroker motor I'll hit it with a 200 once or twice.
