Default Hughes rebuild kit for a 4l60e

I just seen a Hughes kit in Summit for a 4l60e. It contains Kolene Steels and Red Alto race frictions. Anyone know if these are any good and what they might be rated up to horsepower wise? I was going to go with a Borg Warner kit I seen but this kit from Summit is about $100 cheaper and sounds just as tuff.

The Hughes kit with the Alto clutches and Kolene steels is a good kit, clutches and steels will hold more power than the internals of the transmission are rated for. Unless you are building a killer trans for a motor with a ton of HP, go with the Borg Warner setup with a z pack 3-4 clutch set. Hughes also carries kits with the Borg Warner frictions, give them a call at 1-800-274-7223 and ask for Bill, he is good ****!!!
Hope this helps!!!

There's nothing wrong with that kit but there are cheaper alternatives that include the exact same stuff. Only difference is I request B/W high energy frictions for the 3/4. Other wise it's the same. Just didn't come in a hughes box.

I will agree with that statement, Hughes is proud of some of their stuff. Worked for them for a year or so when I lived in Phoenix and they were proud of their trans. kits!!!
