Default Can any muffler shop be trusted for minor things like exhaust tips?

I live in south Houston and there isn't a lot of shops in my area, so can I trust any of those everyday shops like Midas or whatever for welding Corsa Clone tips? I'm just very **** about things being done right.

Tips are not a minor thing if you are **** like I am. I want them even, level, straight etc. Talk to the manager, get his best welder, tell him you don't want to pay for it if it isn't done right, whatever. If you don't feel comfortable leave. If you don't get a good feeling from the above suggestion I say go to a good car show and ask some car owners there.

The guy that did my dad's truck here in DFW did a great job. I think the welder was "barely" legal, he spoke little english and used a welding mask made of cardboard. He came recomended from some guys my dad nows from car shows. He actually used old exhaust isolators and spacers to hold the tips as he welded up the system. The measurements are as perfect as could be expected and he was cheap.

I don't trust any regular shop to work on my car. I take it to LMR for everything I need done I don't feel like or can't do myself.

I paid good money and took mine to a professional.

The hangers broke on the way home.

I have had real good luck with a few cars at R/T Exhaust in Dickinson, a bit of a drive, but they are very good, great attention to detail.
