Default HTC 351 build

Hey guys and gals,

I'm a LSx newbie and need a little information. Check out the link on a HTC 351 ci build under the heading "ON THE GROUND".
http://www.chevyhiperformance.com/te...ons/index.html

I have a LS1 long block and am interested in this build for a propane powered truck application. The HTC website appears to be down and I can't get more information. I'm looking to get 11:00 compression. Can I get that with milled 5.3 heads? The stock heads would be adequate powerwise but I don't think they will mill to the 58cc I need to achieve the 11:00 compression. Any thoughts?

I'm going to say the $1000 you'd spend adding a whole 5 cubic inches to an LS1 would be better spent on a set of heads. A stock LS1 will be at 11:1 with a set of 5.3 heads and .040 gaskets, no milling needed.

Or do some 243s, depending on what you want to do with it, that will get you another half point to take you to 10.5:1. You won't have to spend a lot of money, either way.
