Default ALL of my rocker arms destroyed! If you have HS rockers, come in! DAMAGE PICS!

***UPDATE***

I talked to Randy at Harland Sharp who was extremely helpful and more than willing to replace these rockers. They stopped using this INA bearing awhile ago and are aware of this issue. Big thumbs up to Harland Sharp for stepping up!

************

These are HS modded stock rockers. I was changing my valve stem seals earlier today, and was about to put these back in and I spun one. It was catching, so I decided to check it out. This is what I found:

My bearings are destroyed. The rockers are destroyed. The trunions are gouged badly. The rocker itself shows heat marks where the bearing itself failed. If you are running HS mod rockers in your car, PLEASE go and check them.

There was another thread on this not too long ago. Are these the older ones? Supposedly the newer ones have a different bearing set-up now that doesn't have this issue. I believe HS replaced the other guys set since their product failed due to inferior bearings. So you might call them & tell them their rocker bearings took a **** on you.

Very sorry to hear this Mike. Looks like this summer is going to be like last summer. When you are running, my car is down, when my car is running your car is down, and when both cars are running we are busy working.

Listen guys I covered this in the other thread. These bearings in Mikes HS units above are the OLDER style "INA" caged bearing. In fact a close look at pic number 1 shows the N from INA on the small piece broken in the middle. HS no longer uses this bearing for the reasons above. I was the original poster of the other thread and mine had the INA bearing as well. HS was awesome in taking care of this for me and I am sure a call to Randy at HS will yeild Mike the same results. They also changed the material the trunions are made from as well. I am about to get my LS2 fired up in the coming weeks and will moniter the rockers arms very closely and will be SURE to report any signs of trouble.

Scorpion, LOL. You mean those anodized blue turds that has had several rockers break? I wouldn't even look at those.

If your on a budget grab a new version of these HS rebuilt stockers. None of the "new" units have had issues. Only the older ones with the inferior bearings. If you got some cash to burn grab a set of Yellow Terras.

Randy told me they changed them a couple of years ago. If you wanna check remove the E clip that holds the bearing assembly in place and if the outer race of the bearing says "INA" on it you have an older set. At that point i'd really start looking them over carefully.

Default Harland Sharp Rockers

I've had lots of problem getting any customer service out of Randy Jr. of Harland Sharp on my rocker issues. I could write a book long post here. Basically they don't want to handle issues with their products and keep giving me the run around WE BUILD PERFECT PRODUCTS, haven't heard of any issues it's not US bull crap instead of wanting to deal with the problem. I can honestly say I'd never buy anything from them again!
