Help!! car wants to idle at 2500 rmp after intake install
What would be causing my car to idle super high after new intake install...It will stay at 2500 then drop down for a min to normal but when i give it gas again it wants to stay up at 2-2500 range...

i don't know how much the iac can drop it down but you may have a vacuum leak. have you checked to make sure the throttle blade is closed ? probably is something minor, just have to find it.

its just an ls6 intake with new oem gaskets.... reused my bbk throttle body with spacer... i have the throttle body on there tight...could it still be leaking through the paper gasket? I thought it could be the sensor on the back of the manifold where it plugs in, it felt loose and like it could suck air... I siliconed it and it didnt help...
only think it could be is the throttlebody leaking around the seal or somehow the gasket got kinked underneath... right?
Its a no egr intake

Did you delete the coolant tubes that go from front to back??
Also have you re tightened the intake bolts, they do compress. On a LS6 intake there should be a clip that holds the MAP sensor on there but again there are other vaccume hoses.
If you have the motor running and take soapy water in a bottle and spray on the edge on the gasket all around. Any leak should seal and the motor would calm down. I suspect its intake to cyl gasket or a vaccume line came undone in the back when the intake was installed.

Did you change the throttle cable bracket to accommodate the TB spacer or are you using the stock bracket? If you're still using the stock bracket then the throttle cable is holding the blade open.
As stated above did you change the coolant vent pipes under the intake? If not the intake will not seat onto the heads.
Also make sure that you have the vacuum hose that goes from the intake to the brake booster attached properly. It takes a pretty large vacuum leak to cause a 2500 RPM idle and these 3 things cover what I think is capable of such a leak. Good luck with it.

You said theres a T/B spacer on there? Make sure the stock throttle cable isnt holding it open like jimmy said first of all.
If the blade is closed all the way, you have a vacuum leak somewhere. Spray brake clean/carb cleaner around the intake slowly and when the idle speed goes up, youve found either THE leak or A leak.
good luck and dont blow yourself up with the carb cleaner
