Default weird problem, blowing fuses

here's what happens...
with the car running, if i pull up on the e-brake just enough for the "brake" light to come on, on the dash, i blow my gauges fuse.
BUT

if i put my foot on the brake and then pull up on the e-brake there's no problem.

No idea where to start. some one point me in the right direction?

also when i brake i get a crackle out of my speakers that's really anoying

Default

Sounds like a pinched wire somewhere. Pull the console out and look at that 'bag o snakes' wiring harness around the E brake.
