Default BRAKE Light won't turn off

Interesting problem I think... didn't find anything quite the same in the other threads.

Car is a 99 Camaro Z28 w/Traction control

Just got done swapping in another 10-bolt. I know... poor choice, but i'm broke.

Anyways, now the BRAKE light on the dash won't turn off. When I let the parking brake off, my headlights will still turn on, but the red BRAKE indicator doesn't go away.

What's causing this?

air in the system. did you bleed the brakes?

definitely lots of air in the system. I didn't know that would turn the light on. thanks.
I didn't have anyone helping me swap the rear end, so I couldn't bleed the brakes. sigh.

it will stay on because its telling you theres something wrong with your brakes. in this case theres air in the system. just make sure all the connections are tight and the master cylinder stays full when you do bleed them.
