Curious what the actual weight difference are between 1SS strippers and full loaded 6sp manual cars and automatics.
I've already seen a loaded 6spd car tip the scales at over 4000 lbs raceweight. I'm guessing a loaded Auto would be heavier.
Anyone gathered that type of info yet?

From the looks of the stock exhaust you should be able to lose around 100# just by dropping the cats & big ass mufflers & going to a nice dual setup with smaller mufflers.

Good info, I'm more looking at the difference in trim levels.
How much less weight is a 1SS than a 2SS?

Interesting stuff.
So basically less than 100lbs.
Are those printed by GM?

No doubt about it. Definitely not the ideal car for the dragstrip.

Guess it will be a while before people start get serious about moding & racing these cars.

1SS to 2SS shouldn't be much. The added electronics are mostly just programs in exsisting hardware like the radio and DIC, the 1SS has power seats too so it's just the weight of the leather and 4 pack gauges. The arylic dash and door panels maybe be lighter but that's made up with the added LED's. I would guess at or under 100# difference. The sunroof may add a few lbs. though but that's available on both.

My guess is once it's factored by NHRA, at probably F or G/stock, (stick) and G/SA (automatic), the raceweight may be at around 3800 w/a 165-70 lb. driver. It still remains to be seen, whether or not it'll be allowed to install a straight axle or make them keep the heavier, drag race-unfriendly IRS. Big problem there w/huge rear brakes for fitting lightweight smaller wheels and a real hooking tire.... Time will tell....a car this fast "looking" will definitely be made to go fast---no matter what the cost, by those who can afford to.....It surely would have made things a helluva lot easier, if they had offered a drag-pak option (50-100 build) like the Cobra Jet cars, w/a straight rear axle, rollbar, headers, good TB and tune, slicks and more....If the car sells real good, they just might follow Ford and offer something like that in the future... WJ
