General LSX Automobile Discussion - car keeps reving up when i let off gas?

just wondering if anyones had this problem the car is a 1987 camaro iroc z28 with the 305 tpi engine with an auto. it just started today when i let off the gas most of the time it stays at the same rpms or it keeps going are revs up slowly :confused: if i kick the gas pedal sometimes it stops and the next time i step on the gas it does it again :bang: if i hit the brakes it keeps going also intill it decides to stop accelerating. it dosent matter if im going slow are not it still does it. just wondering if anyones has had/fixed a problem like this before? thanks for your time

You need to clean your throttle body thoroughly. It's probably sticking open slightly. Pull it off, take any sensors off it, then hose it down with carb cleaner and scrub any hard to reach places with a tooth brush. Reinstall it and try again. If it still has the problem, add another throttle return spring. Your stock one may be worn out.

what LS1Formulation said pretty much hits it on the head, my throttle spring actually broke after I primed the truck. Cranked it up and it revved to like 6,000 lol prolly not to good.

they definitely gave the best advise. pretty simple fix if that is the case.

tps sensor!!!try cleaning it out.Some times if you have a over oiled filter you can foul your tps sensor.
