Default How to Disconnect Auto Turn On Headlights?

i have a 2000 camaro and i want to be able to turn my headlights off when i want to. right now they automatically turn on when it is dark. is there any way be able to tie in a switch so i can turn them off at any given time (other than pulling up the emergency brake) i want to be able to be driving down the road and just flip a switch and they turn off but also be able to turn the switch back on and be able to use the automatic turn on feature. basically i just need an interuption in the wires that go to the headlights but i dont no which one or how i could do it. any help is greatly appreciated.

Short the two wires attached to the light sensor. The daylight sensor is on the right of the center dash vent, and is easily accessible by raising the dash cover.

I used a scotch lock on mine.

What he said, or what I did was just unplug the sensor and jumper the plug with some wire. Easily reversed that way.

Not quite. Check out the sticky. Basically, use a scotchloc connector to short the two wires going to the sensor.

I deactivated my daytime running lights on my 99 SS and my old 2000 WS6 by pulling the radio and thensimply unpluging one of the two wires(but I can't remember which one). By doing this also deactivated the auto-on feature too.
