Why? Car has to be newer than '83 so that means classics are safe. 4500 credit towards a new car for a pos 500 dollar car.

guess not.....

"But now, the effort is geared toward helping carmakers sell all the vehicles that are sitting on their lots -- even the less fuel-efficient ones."

4K off for a 2SS or a G8 GXP sounds pretty sweet :drive:

as for the taxpayer part, I think it won't be too bad, buying stimulates the economy, you pay a little more tax (kinda sucks) but you have a sweet new ride, so in the end, it repays itself, but what the US needs to do is reindustrialise/improve the quality of goods cuz we have become too dependent on foreign items, so thus, we fail if we consume too much and not produce enough

This is horrible. All these "running" used cars will get crushed. Literally. There won't be very many used cars left if everyone starts doing this. How are we supposed to find parts for our cars!!!?? We all will have to pay for this if this passes...this is not beneficial to anyone but the automakers and governemnt.
