i had to make it though but damn somebody should sell them for an honest price! i got about 10 bux tied up in it. this of course is if you have the late model 80 with the rear lube port in the way back.

besure to clock and mark the parts before welding so you aint pointing off into never never land

in hindsight i think you could have used the factory 'snap' fitting and just ground the head down and welded the 90* to it. ah well somebody else can do that i'm DONE!

I have a question for you Mr. Mouse, why couldnt you run a normal a/n fitting with the correct thread? or is it some weird thread on that?

the late model 80e rear port requires that unique tube comming off the back of the fitting going inside the trans. if you dont have this the trans will burn up during your first drive

also the thread is not an npt thread, though most people get away with using them on the front port, or on both ports of an older model case/th400 style ports

thats how i made mine, marked the way i wanted the fitting to point, ground it down(rem the inner o ring) welded it up, works great

I just pressed a piece of 3/8 tubing in a npt an 90. Cut to the right length of coarse. No leaks for me, although that set up was my next route if it didn't seal.

Very nice, looks like it will have good clearance. I wound up "customizing" a piece I ordered :



It will make it past "the first drive" with the wrong fitting in it without the extension - but at least in my case with 5k miles it may be too late for my center support, lots of copper glitter in my pan. The shop that did the swap way back when insisted the standard AN fitting was fine and it didn't need a different fitting - I had it pointed out on here and looked into it.

I got a brass male adapter and then brazed a piece of 3/8" copper to the rear of the fitting. I adapted my hoses to the brass fitting.
