Default 3.6L LLT V6 into a 94 Camaro 3.4L

So my dad heard that the new v6 camaro engines are making 300hp and he wants to see about putting one into the old camaro. What's everyones thoughts on this swap in the first place? We were planning on an ls1 swap cuz the motor is on it's last leg but this would be an interesting way to go.

On the Dyno it pulled:
Dyno type: Mustang
Filter value: 33
Air temp: 78F
Humidity: 83% (ouch)
Car: 2010 Camaro
Engine: 3.6L V6 Direct Injection
Trans: 6L50 6spd automatic
Mod: Bone stock, right down to the plastic still on my carpet.
Octane: 87 (lol)

Best run:
246RWHP | 220lbs/tq

Notes:
* Torque curve is basically flat from 2500 to 5800, dipping by the 6900 mark

* HP curve is a steady arc, flattening out right at redline

* Factory tune is PIG RICH , holding down in the 11.4 range through the bulk of the run. There is a good bit of power hiding in just a tune.

* We did a run w/ the AC on just for fun - you can see clearly where it was shut off. Lots of power loss at the accy

yeah.... LS1 is definitely a lot more underrated than the V6 you are talking about...

If you had the cash for one of those brand new V6 engines... might as well spend money on a forged 347 or something.

Not sure how tuning is yet on these direct injected motors either, let alone mods.

The LS1/LT1 is the best way to go. The LLT swap is still in-progress by one or two separate crazy master-fabricator guys. It is definitely not an easy drop-in task like an LS1.

I know which one would be cheaper. But what about the coolness factor? lol Besides this is for an old guy that just goes to work and back. Does anyone one know if it will mate up to a 4l60e?

ZEX/Lee - Do you have a link to a build thread on the LLT swap?

the cool factor would be through the roof AS LONG AS the price is not a factor. However, as far as modding and power i think he may like the LS1 better, especially since he will always want more

It doesn't mate up to a 4L60E. In fact finding a transmission that works was a major PITA... Here's the build thread. http://www.fullthrottlev6.com/forums...ad.php?t=50690

It costs major bucks, lots of time and research (since it has never been done before and some of the parts they need to use are mostly in Australia), ingenuity, and a full machine shop at your disposal. I wouldn't even consider it an option at this point. The coolness factor would also wear off as soon as you start paying $250 every 2 years for a V6, unless you can make up some B.S. reason why/how it can pass smog legally. If you know of any smog technicians, try and find out what numbers a V6 CTS with the LLT puts out, and then compare them to what the 3.4 puts out. If the LLT puts out lower percentages of harmful stuff than the 3.4 then you might be able to pass it off as stock to some dumb technician.

Sorry if I'm missing the point, but what is so cool about a V6?
