LQ4/TH350 - Torque converter question
Got an 01 LQ4 being mated to a th350. Would any th350 torque converter work for me if I elongate the bolt holes? I was looking at this converter...

where do you think the owner of ptc learned his stuff from he worked for tci for 20 years....and ive ran both ptc and tci and was happy with both.qaulity and price is about the same.

Yea but Kenny has far surpassed TCI since starting his company. And the TCI is nowhere as good as the PTC. I also have run both on high HP cars. I have had several TCI converters fail, But have not had a PTC fail once. Plus I like the service PTC gives you.

So, just grinding out the bolt holes is ok? Even on a big convertered/high hp car? Figured you had to have a conversion flywheel. I've only owned a Yank PT4000 and a 4400 and loved both. Put TONS of miles on both. Had local cars with "cheaper" converters not run/perform near as well as the yank. But that's been several years ago. Converter choice is a big decision!

how so,show us some product information detailing that(beside the problems of one person)tci has been in business for decades they must be doing something right....what ptc did was very good PR work by getting their product out there and offering optional(i.e. anti ballooning plates and such)a little cheaper than other companies....and made the customer feel special by offering a tech info card so the customer was thinking he's getting a custom built conv. but it was usually a off the shelf part number and that was just smart business..but far as better,i'm saying you cant go wrong with either conv.......

I'm doing the same lq4 with 350 trans. I got the hughes flexplate and adapter. I just ordered arp bolts part number 244-2901. Call hughes and arp to verify part numbers. I had a new conv from another setup so i figured I'll stay with what I have. My conv is a trans specialty 350.00 brand new, why buy another one. I'm not trying to run 8's or 9's just 11's it should work for that.
