lq4 problems

lq4 problems I put an 06 LQ4 in an 88 suburban and I have a few problems. When i start it, it idles kinda high like 1200-1300 and it is popping out of the exhaust. When it idles it pops about every second or two and it is worse when you take off unless you floor it. At crusing speeds of about 1800-2200 rpms it pops and studders a little. It also kinds surges if you ease into the throttle to much at low rpms. What could be the problems? Any help would be greatly appreciated. It seems to cruise ok down the highway it is just during acceleration that it acts funny.
