Default What should I do with my GTA?

I have a 1988 GTA with a digital dash. Luckily, the entire dash still works! Just a little fading on the odometer. However, the car is a mess! Whatever you don't see, I don't have including the front bumper clip and cover. I have most of the interior, missing some trim panels and the headliner. The tires are shot, and 1 wheel is rusted to the hub. The car runs. Has a 350 and is an automatic.

Should I keep it or sell it?? I don't know if it's something worth fixing up, or just another real project. I have too many "projects". Was wondering if anyone thinks this is a better resto project than a 4th gen build up project which I also have going on right now.

Here is a link to the pictures of it.... http://rides.webshots.com/album/546849100zJjtMv

I've always had a soft spot for the third gen GTAs, but that is rough. I would say unless there is some reason you want that specific car, you should part it. Being in AZ, we are a little spoiled in that cars don't rot they way they do most other places, and I see solid GTAs for sale all the time. I would part that, put the money towards the other projects, and wait for the right GTA if you're looking for a resto candidate.

If you have to have that specific car, it's going to be expensive.

Good luck

Call me crazy, but I don't think that it's too far gone for a resto.....or maybe a race car project? But then again I do live in the rust belt...

I have 2 complete wireing harnesses and clusters for the digital dash . I have a 89 that I plan on swapping over.I gotta a ton of 3rd gen stuff. You should just stick with the 4th gen build up. What would you be looking to get for the GTA.

What would I even ask for it??? I've never thought about selling it, and never seen one in this condition.

I would never get rid of it! I have a huge soft spot for 3rd gens, especially the gta, especially in maroon, especially with the digital dash. I would restore it. I would swap in an lt5 or ls6, save the gauges and what not, but hand build a custom modern 80's interpretation dash out of aluminum sheeting, and replace everything else in the interior that it needs. I would absolutely love to have that car. If you want to get rid of it, i'll gve it an amazing home! Something to think about, if you "gift" the car to someone, at least here in California, you receive a $1000 tax credit for the year.

I don't know if it'd be worth sending this car across country! haha
