Default new interior for my 1991 Trans Am

I thought I would share what I've been doing to my 91 bird for the last month or so. Here are the plans:

Replace the worn carpet with a good used one.
Add a headliner, the old one was hanging and removed a few years ago.
Replace the worn steering wheel with a good one with radio controls from a 92 SSEi.
Install leather seats from a 95 Trans Am.

Here is how the interior looked prior to starting.

It took me about three hours to remove the seats, trim, and old carpet. I found some minor surface rust on the floorboard.

I decided to hit it with a wire wheel and use rust oleum to cover the entire floorboard. I didn't think paying for POR-15 was worth it.

I tested the steering wheel radio controls to make sure they would work with my cd player, which is out of a 2000 Grand Prix.

I used a clockspring from a 94 SSEi and ran the wires down the steering column.

I made my own power seat harness using the seat connectors and air hose from my old 96 SSEi parts car.

New to me carpet installed, came from a 1990 Trans Am.

New to me seats are in.

New headliner from YearOne is in. I had to flip the dome light to cover a hole in the headliner. I left about 1/8" around the hole template but the overall fit is just ok. The fit around the visors is not good.

Steering wheel is installed.

How it looks now.

Looks a lot better. Now just find some door cupholders that youre missing. Your floorpan was rusting in the same spots that min old '91 was. Good thing you caught it before you could see through to the ground unlike me!

Post some more pics of the car!

Lookin' good! The Taupe seats blend nice with your existing interior colors.
