Suggestions needed - Riverwalk (S.A.) restaurant.
Myself, my wife, and our 5 year old daughter are headed to San Antonio Thursday. We're going to do Natural Bridge Caverns that afternoon and will be staying at Hotel Valencia on The Riverwalk. I'd like to eat somewhere that night on The Riverwalk that's got good food, cold beer and is somewhat kid friendly. We are doing Mexican food (Mi Tierra) Friday for lunch, so no Mexican restaurant suggestions please. Let's keep it under $20/plate too. Thanks.

Dick's Last Resort if your kids are over 14-15. We took my GF's 15 year old sister and her friend, they had a blast. You go in to get a table and they tell you to go stand outside and don't block the ******' door, then they make you write your own order and insult you the whole time. It's definitely a culture shock.
Edit - just saw the 5 year old part. Cancel the Dick's idea lol.
We also had some good food at The County Line (BBQ) and Landry's (seafood).

Well, we've been to Rain Forest a couple of times. Once in Galveston and once in Vegas, so that's probably out. Hell, my 5 year old is pretty quick with the comebacks. She might could fit right in at Dick's Last Resort.
Another thing is, we are pretty close to Kemah, so Landry's, Joe's Crab Shack, etc. is a pretty regular thing for us. I guess I’m looking for something more local to the Riverwalk that we don’t really have here in Houston.
Sorry to be so picky.

Ross, I go to San Antonio on business and eat out there a lot. I would recommend skipping Mi Tierra and eat at Casa Rio on the Riverwalk. I've eaten at both places and IMO the food is much better at Casa Rio, and it's my favorite restaurant in San Antonio. If you go, be sure and get the chili con carne as an appetizer.

I wouldn't take kids to Dick's it's a pornish-humor atmosphere.
I went to Boudro's years ago..think it's cajun...good food but most entrees are over 20/ea now. I think it's next to Casa Rio.
IDK other than that...don't go there much.

I've heard everything on the riverwalk is lackluster. I've been to Mi Terrias but was not impressed. Rainforest was "okay" overpriced for what you get (and I used to be a Landrys employee). I want to try the Republic of Texas, there was a Mexican food place that smelled good, but I don't remember the name of it.

Damn. I guess we better go to McDonald's then.
Thanks to those who have suggested Riverwalk restaurants. We'll probably end up strolling along and picking one of the above suggested out. I guess it will just depend on what we are in the mood for that night.
