Default How much do gears drop ET?

Has anyone calculated or have results from only swapping gears? Say 3.23 to 3.73 or 3.90 or 4.10? Someone said 2.73 to 3.73 = 1 second.

Phillip, I have a buddy that just put 4:10's in his 99 C5 coming from the stock 3:42's. The car went from 109 to 111 mph, traction suffered (street tires) so ET wasn't improved. However on a set of tires I believe the car would have went an easy 2-3 tenths and 2-3 mph faster. He spun through the 1/8 and still managed to gain 2 mph.

Going from 2.73s to 3.42s netted a .25 ET improvement for me. No other change. Mostly all of the improvement occurred in the 1/8. I'm comparing before & after runs with similar 2.0x 60 ft & 105 to 106 mphs. 13.26 to 13.01
