Default Torque converter question

i recently got a transmission and torque converter for my 99 ls1 camaro the trans is and torque converter are out of a truck but i got a hell of a deal on it my only problem now is if i get on it the car hits the rev limiter before shifting would the different torque converter do this or can i adjust something in the tranny as the car never did this before with my old trans before i blew it?

Need tuning. Car revs faster and doesn't have time to shift. Will probably need to lower your shift points so you don't hit the rev limiter.

can i just go back to stock converter instead of this truck one will that fix my problem
