I have the same tires and think I run them @ 47#, I haven't checked the pressure in them in a while, but I recall putting it just a little over the number listed. If I recall there was a thread on this a while back and people were talking about running 60# in thier front runners, but I thought that was too much for my stuff and only went a little over the stated number...

They look flat because they aren't designed to carry that much weight. All of teh VW tires are a VERY unsafe thing to put on the front of a car that's going to see 120+ and is as heavy as these cars are.
I would STRONGLY reccommend a set of the 8 ply, or at least the 4 ply sportsman front tires. I ran the 4 ply and they were fine @ 40 lbs... the VW tires that I have seen people use, don't look right even with 50 lbs because the sidewall just can't support the weight. Now, imagine having to make an evasive maneuver with that tire on the car, they'll roll right over and then you're gonna be in trouble. At the track, car gets sideways on you say 150 feet out because of some oil the last import left on the track, then you'll find yourself in trouble too. Nevermind if you stand the car up, and it comes down a little hard, even from a 2 foot wheelie.
Ditch those tires please as soon as possible.
