Default 2001 SOM Firehawk

I am about ready to pull the trigger and buy an 01 Trans Am Firehawk. It is Sunset orange metallic with black interior. It is a 6 speed and completely stock. It has 84,000 miles and is in great shape. Only known problem is one of the headlight motors needs fixed. I have negotiated down to $15,300. Is this a good deal?

Still seems a little high to me, but those do seem to be pretty rare cars... and it is a great color and all

If TRULY in great shape with documented maintenance history I would not be afraid to pay in that price range. It is a little high for that mileage but where can you find SOM Firehawks?? especially in great shape?? Just make sure it is though. You don't want to sink thousands into it. You will never get your money back. Having said that, if you love it, buy it! You will probably keep it for years and years and even if you sell it for $8,000 some day, that is a lot of fun driving for very little average yearly cost. If I love a ride and it costs me $2,000 a year in the long haul, that is nothing in the grand scheme of things. A new car purchase sets you back a lot more than that. Good luck!

I've been on the lookout for an SOM T/A Firehawk for a while. The only reason to pay $15.3k for a Hawk with 84k miles is for the rarity of the SOM color. Otherwise, lower mileage examples can be had for the same or less.
