Default Woo, got a speeding ticket

Got a speeding ticket yesterday where 20 meets 820 near Kennedale. The cop asked why I was in such a hurry to which I replied I didn't even know I was speeding. He then informed me I was going 68 in a 60...... ..... ........ are you eff'in serious?! Technically I was speeding, but that's still a huge load of crap.

Now to the question, anybody know a good traffic attorney around here? Is this even a wise choice? I did def driving back in oct 08 so thats not an option.

He asked 'whats the hurry' and you were only doing 8 over ? what a *****! I've heard of folks able to get to do another DD course even though a year ain't gone by - I think they had to plead to the judge to do it, though....

The last speeding ticket I got was 34 in a 30.

When I showed up, the clerk looked at it, shook her head and said deferred 90 days. I never said a word ...

Actually, it was technically the City of Forest Hill. LOL. I'm not sure if that will make a difference or not. I have never seen one of those cruisers even in the last 10 years of driving in that particular area.

I had actually downshifted to go around this slow car. He even mentioned he heard me coming around the corner and was probably going faster before I got clocked.

It used to be a 1 year limit between taking DD, but I thought that was changed to 6 months?

Wow... That sucks ***. It does seem that the cops are getting more desperate. I usually do 5-10 over on the highway and sometimes 5 over on smaller streets. I guess I should watch out a bit more.

I've got a friend that travels 45 north to 610 in Houston three-four times a week doing about 85 the entire time. He's been doing this for almost four years with one warning. I think its cause he drives an old 91 merc cougar which has like 3 cats and 4 mufflers so you couldn't hear it even if you tried to. I think that's where us loud cammy owners get into trouble. We're picked out cause we are louder. Pfft. I see people fly past me doing 10-15 sometimes 25 more then me and the cops don't seem to catch those people. Its annoying.

Forest Hill is COMPLETELY a seperate city from Fort Worth. You will have to take that citation to the municipal court for the City of Forest Hill.

Thanks for the comments guys.

I did take the ticket there so they informed me I can't take defensive driving again since it's within a year, but since I'm over 25 I can just do the defer adjudication. I'm just gonna do that and not risk having the officer show up and make me pay anyway. Funny thing is my ticket isn't even in the system yet. So I have to wait a week for my ticket to even show up.

Retarded....

I've heard good and bad things about him. But since I have almost another week before I can even take action on my ticket, I'll go see him and talk to him.

Thanks.
